Terms of Use

• You must give your real age on the age screen.
• If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms for you and is responsible for your use of the Services, including any purchases.
• Players under 13 can play, but some features (such as chat and crew posts) are turned off for them, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
• You may not use the Services if we have banned you, or if the law forbids it.

• When you first play, we create a guest account on your device. A guest account that you don't save to an email can be lost for good if you delete the game, change device or clear its data. You can save it any time in Settings > Connect Account.
• A TechRunners ID is your account linked to an email address; you log in with a one-time code sent to that email. Keep access to that email secure: anyone who can read it can log in to your account.
• Your account is personal. Don't sell, trade, share or transfer it, and don't use anyone else's.
• Usernames must not impersonate others or be offensive. We may change a username that breaks these Terms.
• You can delete your account at any time in Settings > Delete Account or at playtechrunners.com/delete-account. Deletion is permanent and can't be undone.

We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Services for your own non-commercial entertainment, in line with these Terms and the rules of the store you got the game from. All rights not expressly given to you remain with Soulvale and its licensors. The game, its code, art, music, characters and trademarks are owned by Soulvale or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

• The game may include virtual currency (Creds) and virtual items (such as outfits, weapons and cosmetics). They have no real-world monetary value, can't be exchanged for real money or anything of value outside the game, and are licensed to you, not sold.
• You may not sell, buy, trade or transfer accounts, virtual currency or items outside the features we provide in the game.
• We may change, rebalance or remove virtual items and currency as the game evolves, in a reasonable way and without affecting items you paid for more than necessary.

Where in-app purchases are offered, they are processed by the app store you use (Apple App Store, Google Play or Steam) under its terms, including its refund rules. All purchases are final once the content is delivered, except where the store's policy or the law of your country gives you a right to cancel or a refund (for example the 14-day withdrawal right in the EU and UK, which you agree ends when we start delivering digital content to you at your request). Creds bought on our website are paid through Stripe; we never see your card details.

If a purchase is refunded or charged back, it is reversed: the Creds from that purchase are removed, and items bought mainly with them are taken back. If they can't be taken back, your balance can go negative until you earn it back.

To keep the game fair and safe, you agree not to:

• harass, threaten, bully, stalk or discriminate against anyone, or post hateful, sexual, violent or otherwise offensive content;
• share your own or anyone else's personal information (real name, address, phone number, email, social media) in chat or creations;
• try to meet, groom or exploit minors, or contact children for any inappropriate purpose;
• cheat: use hacks, bots, macros, modified clients, exploits of bugs, or any unauthorised third-party software;
• disrupt the Services, attack our servers, or reverse-engineer, decompile or copy the game except as the law expressly allows;
• spam, advertise, scam, phish, or impersonate other players, Soulvale staff or anyone else;
• upload creations you don't have the right to use, or that infringe anyone's rights;
• break any law while using the Services.

Report anyone breaking these rules with the in-game report button. If you see a child in danger, contact your local authorities immediately.

You keep ownership of what you create and post (chat messages, crew names and posts, custom cosmetics, crew images). You give Soulvale a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, adapt (for example resize) and distribute that content in the Services, for as long as it is in the Services. You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload. We may review, refuse or remove any content, and creations are reviewed before other players can see them.

We may investigate breaches of these Terms, including by reviewing reported chat and other content. Depending on how serious a breach is, we may warn you, remove content, mute your chat, reset progress obtained unfairly, or suspend or permanently ban your account, and we may report illegal activity to the authorities. Where the law requires, we will tell you the reason. If you think we made a mistake, contact support@playtechrunners.com and we will review it.

The game is a live service: we update it, add and remove features, and may need to take it offline for maintenance. You may need to install updates to keep playing. We may stop operating the Services; if we do, we will give at least 30 days' notice in the game where possible.

To the extent the law allows, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some countries don't allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you, and your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

To the extent the law allows, Soulvale is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, virtual items or profits, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if you paid nothing. These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or gross negligence and intentional misconduct.

If you are not a consumer, or where the law allows, you agree to compensate Soulvale for claims by third parties that result from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Services.

You can stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access as described in section 8. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, licenses you gave us for content still in the Services, disclaimers, limitations and dispute terms) continue after these Terms end.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you and Soulvale agree to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Brazil or another country whose law gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts or under your local law, you keep that right. Please contact us first; most issues can be solved quickly.

We may update these Terms. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the game before they take effect. If you keep playing after a change takes effect, the new Terms apply; if you don't agree, stop using the Services and you may delete your account.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Soulvale about the Services. If a part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours to a successor. Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and are not responsible for the game, but Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms for users of the iOS version and may enforce them.
